Food workers find new jobs

Following the closure of a Dumfriesshire food processing plant several weeks ago ,the majority of the employees who were made redundant have now found new employment.
A total of 28 of the 35 made redundant at the Castle Douglas plant have now found new jobs.
Local MP Russell Brown has welcomed the news of the re-employment .
The holding company Buccleuch Foods announced it was closing its operation in Castle Douglas in January and moving to the central belt as a result of a merger with Campbell Brothers. Within a week of the decision a jobs task force was set up in the town.
The MP said: “While I remain disappointed that Buccleuch Foods have left Castle Douglas, it’s encouraging that most of the employees have now found new work.
“Losing a job is always devastating, but this a particularly difficult time to be trying to find new employment.”
He added: “I commend the efforts of the mullet-agency PACE team, led by Skills Development Scotland, for the help offered to staff
