Waitrose Make Inroads In Retail Landscape

Waitrose has long been the supermarket of choice of the English middle classes and now in Scotland it will become more commonplace as it aims to double its branches over the next couple of years.The food retailer,which is part of the John Lewis Partnership, currently with only 3 stores is aiming to better it's small market share of Scotlands supermarket landscape.A Waitrose spokesperson explained" We would certainly like more shops in Scotland."One of the cornerstones of this Wairose development will be the 25,000 sq ft Newton Mearns branch will create around 200 new retail  jobs.This will be the second Glasgow branch ,the first being base at the West end ,Byres Rd area.This new store should be completedby 2011.
