IT Job Demand In Scotland

Contractors working in the IT sector in Scotland are more in demand than workers in any other industry, according to new research.The latest Labour Market Barometer from the Bank of Scotland showed an improvement in the Scottish jobs market for the fourth month in a row.At 54.2, the report posted its highest result for more than two years.The study revealed that while six of the eight recruitment sectors posted an increase in demand for temporary and contract workers, IT sector staff remained the most sought-after.Workers in Engineering and Construction, Secretarial and Clerical, Blue Collar and Executive and Professional roles made up the top five.Donald MacRae, chief economist at the Bank of Scotland, said: "It's very reassuring to see the recovery in the Scottish labour market continuing.
