Good News For Graduates
Friday July 2010, 18:51:15
A number of new graduate jobs could be made available in Scotland as Clackmannanshire Council works to address rising unemployment among young adults.Under the newly-announced initiative, which is being rolled out by the council's own Clackmannanshire Alliance, some 77 positions will be created for the region's 18-to-24-year-olds over the next few months. As well as helping those straight out of school or college into the workplace, the programme could also provide a number of graduate jobs, thereby enabling university leavers to complement their degrees with on-the-job experience.Announcing the launch of the scheme, council leader Janet Cadenhead said it "will give unemployed local young people the chance to learn key skills and give them employment opportunities"."It will drive grass-roots job creation from within the community," she added.
