Marine Superintendant Ref 1397 Salary Negotiable
Recroot UK are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Marine Superintendant to join their successful Glasgow based client.
Reporting to the both the Managing Director and the Personnel Safety Director, your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out safety audits
Preparing detailed reports of safety audits in accordance with quality assurance procedures
Carrying out onboard training
Liaising with Superintendant engineers with the preparation of dry dock specification, particularly in connection with Hull or Cargo/Ballast Tank coatings and repairs to Cargo, Radio and Navigational equipment
Attending docking to assist superintendants
Liaising with Ship Managers to log monitor or act upon ship deficiencies logged in accordance with QA procedures, along with this you will familiarize yourself with legislation to be in a position to offer advice to Master
You will be responsible for the review of documentation being returned from the vessels such as Quarterly Deck Reports, report of minutes of onboard safety meetings, Deck log books, etc, . which are listed in the consolidated filing list.
In the event of an emergency you may be required to act as on site commander and the role will involve liaising with Masters, safety Director and victualling contractors, as well as attending meetings of the safety committee as secretary and undertaking any other duties as required.
To be considered for this position it is essential that you posses the Chief Officers licence and hold relevant experience as Chief Officer.
