Our client is a highly successful manufacturing operation with a worldwide presence. They require an experienced Optical Test Engineer for the Fife location. This is an interesting, and varied role with scope for professional development.
Key Duties:
" Maintain and develop optical test systems and equipment
" Development and testing of optical fibre and cable
" Document and present test data and approval reports internally and to external customers
" Provide support to manufacturing
" Play a key part in developing test facilities and systems
" Carry out all work using best practice, with Health & Safety paramount
Experience:
" An optical engineering, or closely related, qualification to degree level is essential and knowledge of LabView is an advantage
" Must have strong project management skills and a strong analytical mind.
" Knowledge and practical experience of OTDR's and other optical test equipment.
" Have a knowledge and understanding of optical networks and optical communication systems.
In addition, the successful candidate will work effectively in both team working and individual, scenarios. Attention to detail in work and a positive attitude to personal development is essential and you should be confident in communicating at all levels.
