Protein Scientist

SUMMARY
Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Protein Scientist. Initially this will be a contract then moving to permanent once you have demonstrated your skills and suitability. As an experienced Protein Scientist you will perform protein derivatisation, purification, analysis and scale-up of anti-cancer agents.

The successful candidate will be working for a leading global supplier of complex organic molecules; as such you will be involved on the production of cytotoxic antibody conjugates for the oncology market. Due to its success our client has several new projects pushing them into an exciting phase of rapid expansion, thus producing numerous challenging opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS
The successful applicant’s daily duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Synthesis of protein conjugates in R&D environment
• Development of purification protocols
• Use of appropriate analytical techniques for characterization
• Interpretation, recording and reporting of data
• Participation in scale-up activities
• Process validation activities

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High level of expertise in protein purification and general protein handling techniques such as IEX, HIC, SEC and UF/DF, and particularly cross flow filtration such as Labscale TFF

From an educational perspective both BSc and PhD level candidates (Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Biological Chemistry) will be considered however applicants with relevant industrial experience and can hit the ground running in this fast-paced environment will have a distinct advantage.
